Sunday, February 15

This morning we went to the city church. We introduced ourselves and sang two songs for them. When we got there they were all singing and a young man was playing the drums. He was incredibly talented; it was fascinating to watch his hands move. On the way home we passed a Muslim wedding procession. The groom was going to meet his bride riding a white horse that was decorated with flowers. We opened the car windows to take pictures, and when the other young men walking beside saw that they were very excited. This afternoon around 5 we went over to the courtyard and spent the rest of the afternoon and into the evening with the children. We brought 4, 14 ft jump ropes along and gave them to the children. Boy, did they have fun with those! They knew what they were for immediately; they jumped so fast the rope was a blur! Doran played volleyball with the boys, and after about 4 games we taught them prisoner's base. The girls didn't understand the concept, so they played games they knew. The boys didn't get it at first , but after awhile you could tell they suddenly understood. About 8 we came back to the house to eat and also so the children could take their baths. For supper we had shrimp. We also had baked potatoes! Really! They were delicious. When we were finished with supper and after the children had their baths we passed out packs of Spree and bags of Oreos. We had some left over after they had all gone through the line, so we gave some to Lanka, Bushi, Kintu, Manu and some of his friends. They were all just as excited as the children. Well, it's now bedtime. Goodnight!

Looks very interesting. Our church was cancelled today because of extreme cold. It is 5:30pm and it is 0.9 at my house😀
