Good evening from the compound:
After a breakfast of pancakes and eggs we headed out for another house dedication.  This also involved a church service so to speak.  There was singing and preaching.  The house dedication involved cutting a ribbon at each exterior door of the house and praying and then singing a song.  Then of course some more food.  They sure treat us like royalty.
This afternoon we prepared our gifts for the students.  This included glow sticks, flash lights and then topped off by roasted marshmallows.  We didn't know what to expect as they had no idea what a marshmallow was.  Well to say the least they were a big hit.  They were wondering if there would be more before everyone was served firsts.  Most of them had thirds.  We decided that it was probably best for us not to give them the oreo cookies until Sunday since they were going to be eating supper at 8:30.  We also had the opportunity to serve the food for them.   This included mashed potato  and gravy and smoked ham.
Actually I am just kidding.  It was rice with a potato curry.   Rice seems to be the hot item on their menu.
It was a great day for the team and I am sure something that they will remember.  We are trying to put pictures on, but it is not working. We will keep trying.

Leroy for the India team.

You really had me going with the mashed potatoes and ham! Good to hear all you are doing. May God's blessing be with you all. You are missing out on some REAL winter. Sub zero wind chill and blowing snow. Brrrrr.

Roasting marshmallows for the children is such a good idea! We never thought of doing that. We are envying the warm weather and good Indian food! I think we will have chicken biriyani for supper. Have you learned any Telugu phrases yet? One of the first ones I learned was "mee payraymiti?" What is your name? "Na payru Cindi" my name is Cindi. Dennis and Cindi
